We have acquired a hotel room block at the
Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
It is conveniently located one block from the wedding venue.

Our reservations are under "Won / Stephenson".

Parking: There's a huge public parking lot underground at Pershing Square Park across the street from the Biltmore. And it is definitely cheaper to park there! However, take pics with your smartphone of the car location and its surroundings so it's easy to find when you return to it as the signage could use an upgrade.

Our Story

In the Summer of 2010 we met through a vast and complex network of friends, fate, and coincidences. Seriously, it’s too complicated to write online, but we’ll tell you next time we see you, if you’re into that sort of thing. As we are the epitome of the phrase “opposites attract”, our connection was not very obvious in the beginning. Chill meets enthusiastic. Real meets … Optimistic? Fabulous meets … a Triathlete. But, ever since we first hung out on that brisk NorCal summer evening, we’ve been destined for this. A life exploring our unique diversities, celebrating our shared loves, and laughing at the ridiculous awesomeness of it all.

Diana Soyeun Won was born in Los Feliz, California in the spring of 1983. The daughter of Chong Man and Wha Sook Won, Di grew up with her two older brothers in her beloved Los Angeles. After graduating from USC and a not-so-brief stint working in the music industry, Di moved to the Bay Area in search of something different. Soon she found herself delving into a new career path of graphic design (different), as well as a new relationship with a very stoked individual (VERY DIFFERENT). Her penchant for elaborately painted nails is almost as impressive as her ability to endure her significant other’s corniness. Though, despite the rolling eyes and snarky (but witty) comments, Di couldn’t be happier to be the future wife of Sean Stephenson and is looking forward to spending the rest of her life completely STOKED.

Sean Michael Stephenson was born in Bend, Oregon in the fall of 1981. The son of Mark and Rosie Stephenson, he had a mega rad childhood with his big brother in Carlsbad, CA. An alumni of UC Santa Cruz, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Ukraine, a former office dude at a law firm in SF, Sean is now a software developer in the systems department at Pixar Animation Studios. Positive to the point of near absurdity, he regularly floats between happy and really, really, really happy. But, more than anything else in this world, the true source of his unending stoke comes from being with his Love - Di Won.

Coincidences are the best, and this one is our favorite. It was the spring of 2004, six years before we actually met. In downtown Santa Cruz, we were at the same bar, attending the same party. Although we were never introduced and have no recollection of one another, a single photo exists in which fate would have us both there, smiling at the camera, completely unaware that in the far future we would be getting married.

Today, we proudly live in Oakland, California. Although we only just moved to the east bay, life next to Lake Merritt has proven to be wonderful - indeed - we’ve never been happier.

And most of all, we are thrilled to gather our friends and family together for our wedding. We love to party. Seriously, we really love to party. And this is going to be awesome.

Do you have any recommendations for places to eat?

Yes we do! We've been meaning to create a list of food recommendation for our guests, but our friends beat us to it. With a list that is way better than what we would have come up with. Thanks Annette and Peter!

Is there a dress code?

Our wedding is officially Black Tie Optional, although, we encourage our guests to get fancy! Sean will be wearing his tuxedo (you know he owns one), and we would love to see the rest of the men bring their tuxes out, as well (if possible). IT WILL BE FUN!

Ladies, bring your A-game. We trust you know what to do.

Are children invited to the wedding?

We love your children! However, other than the children who have a role in the ceremony, the celebration will be a party for adults only. BUT WE SERIOUSLY DO LOVE THEM.

Travel

To our friends flying in (thank you for flying in!), you can either fly into LAX or Burbank Airport (BUR). If you're wondering what airport to fly into, behold ... a Pros & Cons List

LAX

Pros:
» LAX is LA's main domestic/international airport and will have many more flights available than BUR.

» The Fly Away Shuttle is an excellent way to get into Downtown LA. It's $8 to get to Union Station (you pay at the kiosk after you get to Union Station). You can then take a cab or get picked up to go to your final destination.
Cons:
» LAX is much bigger than BUR and it can be more hectic to get in and out of.

BUR

Pros:
» BUR is much smaller than LAX and can be easier and faster to get in and out of.

» Southwest is available at BUR, but be sure to book flights through the Southwest website as they are not available on websites like Expedia, Kayak, etc.
Cons:
» BUR does not have a shuttle available, so you would either have to get picked up, take a cab or rent a car to get to your final destination.

LAX to The Biltmore Hotel

To get into downtown LA you can either take a cab straight to the hotel or take the Fly Away Shuttle to Union Station. To take the Fly Away, look for the green signs upon exiting the airport and the shuttle will pick you up there within a half hour. Be sure to get on the Union Station Shuttle. The shuttle will have a sign stating its destination and the driver will most likely be yelling their destination out loud. After getting to Union Station you will have to pay the fee at the kiosk ($8) and then you can get a cab (or Uber/Lyft) to the Biltmore Hotel.

BUR to The Biltmore Hotel

Since there is no shuttle available, you will have to get a cab (Uber/Lyft) or rent a car.

Please keep in mind...

»Traffic in LA is no joke (maybe you've heard?). Friday early evenings can be especially congested. Please factor in the extra time for your travel.

» If you are planning on taking taxi cabs around LA, you should consider taking Uber or Lyft. Not only are they easier to get (through your phone app), but they are often cheaper than regular cabs and more affordable than they are in other major cities. Both companies service the airports.
